Publisher Assemble Entertainment and developer DigiTales Interactive are thrilled to announce that their narrative 2.5D sci-fi detective adventure Between Horizons is soon to launch.
Players take on the role of Stella, the newly appointed Chief of Security for the Zephyr, a ship en route to a distant star. Uncovering the mystery behind the Zephyr’s incident threatens to disrupt the ship’s social order and jeopardize its mission. To do so, players must utilize their detective skills to collect clues and connect evidence, while making decisions that could have drastic consequences.
Decision-making is a crucial element of Between Horizons, forcing players to consider and reevaluate their moral compass with difficult choices. Mistakes can be made, however, no choice can be taken back as the story continues and branches based on player decisions.
Between Horizons merges incredible investigation-style gameplay and a unique sci-fi story within an ever-expanding Metroidvania-style environment. Players must assign clues to cases, confront ship denizens, and submit cases to progress. One of the game’s many challenges is figuring out the connections between various items found on the ship. As players make difficult choices, they’ll be faced with thought-provoking questions surrounding intergenerational responsibility and personal freedom.
The stunning visuals of Between Horizons blend timeless pixel art visuals with 3D environments and gripping visual effects — all of which adds to the game’s unique atmosphere. With its innovative auto-save system, players must live with the consequences of their decisions.
Publisher Assemble Entertainment and developer DigiTales Interactive invite players to embark on an unprecedented sci-fi detective adventure. Between Horizons can now be experienced with a free demo, available on Steam. The full game will launch for PC via Steam, as well as PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch in early 2024.
