The Tartarus Key

Inspired by horror classics, The Tartarus Key brings a masochistic mansion and do-or-die escape room puzzles on May 31

Kidnapped. Trapped in a death-soaked mansion. Cameras following your every move. Who makes it out alive is up to you.

Armour Games Studios and developer Vertical Reach have announced the upcoming release of their new mystery horror game, The Tartarus Key. Players take on the role of Alex, a lone woman who awakens in a mysterious mansion, with the voice of a stranger crackling through a walkie-talkie and cameras following her every move.

The Tartarus Key is a first-person narrative thriller that has players seeking to escape the mansion, using a combination of brain and brawn to solve puzzles, escape rooms, and unlock the mansion’s many lethal riddles. Along the way, they’ll also have to rescue fellow captives from their grisly fate.

The Tartarus Key features three different endings, as well as puzzles and challenges reminiscent of escape-the-room games. The game is a tense, atmospheric adventure, with a focus on puzzles and plot instead of combat or chase sequences.

The Tartarus Key will launch on May 31, 2023 on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox. Players can demo the game and wishlist it on Steam today. The mystery awaits – what horrors lie at the center of this mysterious mansion, and can everyone be saved?
