Echo Generation: Midnight Edition

Return to the Terrors of Suburbia in Echo Generation: Midnight Edition on June 19

Complete Edition coming to Nintendo Switch and PC, revealed at Guerilla Collective Showcase

Cococucumber, the award-winning developer known for their unique voxel art style, is back with a thrilling remaster of their popular turn-based adventure game, Echo Generation. The game, titled Echo Generation: Midnight Edition will be available on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch on Wednesday, June 19th, as revealed during the Guerrilla Collective showcase.

Fans of the original game will be delighted to discover a reimagined version of the Canadian suburbia, complete with stunning visual upgrades, new camera controls, and combat updates. But that’s not all – the Midnight Edition also brings fast travel, a quest log, and language support for a dozen different languages, making the game more accessible and appealing to a wider audience.

Echo Generation: Midnight Edition follows the story of a group of inquisitive kids who, after a mysterious crash, discover strange occurrences in their peaceful neighborhood. Putting their short film production on hold, the young protagonists set out on a mission to uncover the secrets hidden in the cornfields and save their beloved hometown before the end of summer.

Players will have to explore every nook and cranny of the suburbia, interact with residents (both human and animal), and collect key items and clues to progress in the game. From pet cemeteries to creepy basements, the game promises to keep players on their toes as they unravel the truth beneath the facade of the seemingly idyllic Maple Town.

But it’s not all about sleuthing – players will also have to battle supernatural creatures like zombie werewolves, fire-breathing animatronics, and even talking trash pandas in turn-based combat. To aid them in their quest, they can recruit furry friends and make use of stat-healing treats to keep their team in top condition.

What makes Echo Generation: Midnight Edition truly special is how it seamlessly blends elements of coming-of-age films and horror novels from the ’80s and ’90s. With an original synthwave soundtrack composed by Pusher, the game creates a nostalgic yet chilling atmosphere that will captivate players from start to finish.

Martin Gauvreau, Game Director of Echo Generation, shared his excitement for the release, stating, “After concluding the Voxel Trilogy with Ravenlok, we were determined to perfect the series with all we’d learned from our production journey. We’re so proud of how far we’ve come in developing our unique approach to adventures that are as mysterious as they are memorable.”

Echo Generation: Midnight Edition will be available for $24.99 and will offer French, Spanish (European), Spanish (Latin American), German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazilian), Ukrainian, Polish, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Japanese, and Korean language support.

Keep an eye out for its release on June 19th and embark on an unforgettable journey filled with nostalgia and supernatural mystery. For more information, visit the official website of Echo Generation: Midnight Edition.
