Exciting New 2D Action-Platformer, Voidwrought, Announced by Kwalee and Powersnake
Video game enthusiasts, get ready to embark on an epic journey through a hand-drawn world of cosmic horrors with the upcoming release of Voidwrought. Leading UK games publisher, Kwalee, and Swedish independent developer, Powersnake, are excited to announce their publishing agreement for this highly anticipated 2D action-platformer.
Voidwrought takes players on a thrilling adventure as they control the newly-born Simulacrum and explore the thawing ruins of the First Civilisation. The goal? To strike down the primaeval gods that dwell in this mysterious world. With a stunning hand-drawn aesthetic and over 70 enemies and 10 formidable bosses to battle, players will be fully immersed in this fantastical setting.

The world of Voidwrought is intricately designed, with hand-drawn locations ranging from the star-scorched Surface to the biomechanical Abandoned Expedition. As players progress through the game, they will also unlock ancient Artifacts that allow for customization of their loadout. With over 30 Artifacts to choose from, ranging from spectral ranged weapons to traps that manipulate time, the possibilities for combat strategies are endless.
But the journey doesn’t end there. As players grow in power and defeat enemies, they will also have the opportunity to expand their shrine, gaining followers and discovering secrets and routes to new areas within the game. “Your coming was foretold,” according to the developers. The Simulacrum’s shrine is a key element in the game, and players will be rewarded for their efforts in building and expanding it.
Voidwrought is set to release on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store and the Nintendo Switch in 2024. The final release date will be announced soon, so stay tuned for updates.
