Nightdive Studios – in collaboration with Universal Games and Digital Platforms – recently released the remaster of the classic first-person shooter video game, and it is already becoming a hot commodity among gamers.
The original game was released for the Nintendo 64 in 2000, close to two decades ago. Since then, nostalgia for the game has only grown, piquing the interest of gamers and studios alike. Our wishes have been granted- the highly anticipated visual upgrade has been remastered and can now be enjoyed on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles.
The latest addition to the fan-favorite Turok trilogy, Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion, has been given a powerful upgrade through Nightdive Studios’ proprietary KEX Engine for play on modern gaming devices. The game can support a 4K resolution at 120FPS, giving it a much more immersive feel. The game also features upgraded gameplay, high-resolution textures, enhanced lighting and rendering, and support for console gamepads with platform-specific features.
Players have the choice between two protagonists- Joseph and Danielle Fireseed- siblings of the protagonist of Turok 2: Seeds of Evil- Joshua Fireseed, as they battle the titular antagonist Oblivion and its followers, the Flesh Eaters.
The game also features a variety of bonuses, including unlockable Trophies and Achievements on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox, motion/gyro controls in Nintendo Switch, and Gamepad Rumble.
