The awarding-winning roguelike deck builder, Alina of the Arena, is set to make its triumphant debut on consoles and thrill gamers around the world with its intense, tactical gameplay.
November 23, 2023 will mark the official launch of Alina of the Arena on consoles. After a successful debut on PC, the tactical roguelike deckbuilding game is slated for release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox digital stores.
Created by PINIX Games, Alina of the Arena draws inspiration from “Slay The Spire” and “Into The Breach,” combining roguelite elements of deckbuilding, hex-based tactics, equipment management, and power-ups into a thrilling strategic experience, all wrapped in a 2D gladiator aesthetic. Players take on the role of Alina, a valiant female gladiator whose ultimate goal is survival in the relentless arena combat.
In each round, Alina must entertain a bloodthirsty crowd while climbing the ranks and attempting to come out victorious. The intense hex-based tactical gameplay will challenge combat veterans, with weapons and accessories to be tossed into the arena by the crowd, loot to be earned from battle, and power-ups to even outmaneuver adversaries. Gamers have the opportunity to unlock new starting builds, permanent upgrades, unique equipment, and more.
The highlights come with the huge showdowns against the areas Champions, sure to excite the crowd and bring rewards.
Since its launch on PC, Alina of the Arena has already earned several awards and commendations, including the Best Design Indie Game Award at Taipei Game Show 2023, and nominations for awards at BitSummit, IndiePlay and TactiCon.
