The Game Kitchen’s sequel to the 2019 multi-award-winning action platformer brings darkly picturesque punishment to players on PC and consoles later this year
Today, Team17 Digital and The Game Kitchen have unveiled that punishing Metroidvania Blasphemous 2 will be launching on Nintendo Switch™, PC, PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series X|S on 24th August 2023.
Rejoicers will take control of the mysterious Penitent One and explore a strange and unforgiving world, where they will encounter grotesque monstrosities and give everything they have to make sure the prophecy doesn’t come true.
With a variety of powerful weapons to wield and skills to master, players will be able to craft strategies to achieve a level of brutally savage combat that’s unique to Blasphemous 2. Twisted bosses, enchantingly grotesque landscapes, and secret lore await adventures who are brave enough to accept the challenge.
Players will be able to customise the Penitent One’s primary skills and expand their tactics with unique weapons. They must use their arsenal of offensive and defensive capabilities to overcome monsters, traps, and puzzles, all while holding fast to the cycle of life, death, and eventual resurrection that will see them facing the inevitable final confrontation.
