To celebrate the Pokémon video game series and the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games, Nintendo showcased a hand-painted mural at PAX East 2024. The mural highlights the unique character transformation mechanic called “Terastallization” and features a fun design with the Pokémon Eevee, taking center stage. Attending Trainers also had the opportunity to meet Pikachu and Eevee costume characters, interact with the mural and demo the latest entries in the Pokémon RPG series. Longtime Nintendo Leader Expands Responsibilities in New Role Nintendo of America today named Devon Pritchard Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Communications, following her tenure as the acting executive in that role since November 2021. A member of the Nintendo of America team for 16 years, Pritchard previously served as Executive Vice President of Business Affairs and Publisher Relations. While serving recently as the acting head of Sales, Marketing and Communications, Pritchard has overseen major Nintendo Switch game launches like Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Nintendo Switch Sports. LEADER OF VIDEO GAME HACKING GROUP SENTENCED TO 40 MONTHS

Nintendo management reported yesterday, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington imposed a 40-month sentence upon Gary W. Bowser, one of the leaders of the Team Xecuter criminal enterprise, which created and sold console hacking software and devices used to play pirated Nintendo Switch games. Nintendo appreciates the hard work and tireless efforts of federal prosecutors and law enforcement agencies to curb illegal activities on a global scale that cause serious harm to Nintendo and the video game industry. In particular, Nintendo would like to thank the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) of the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Washington, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Computer Crime & Intellectual Property Section and the Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs for their significant contribution and assistance. Metroid Prime 4 Development Scrapped, to Be Restarted with Retro Studios

In very sad new, development of the Metroid Prime 4 game has been entirely restarted. Nintendo has issued an official statement updating fans on the progress of Metroid Prime 4. Shinya Takahashi, Senior Managing Executive Officer at Nintendo, thanks fans for their continued excitement and support, before stating that “the current development progress has not reached the standard we seek in a sequel to the Metroid Prime series” Nintendo wants this upcoming title to be of the highest quality. That said, development has been restructured entirely, and its producer Kensuke Tanabe will now work alongside US Based Retro Studios, the team that developed the original Metroid Prime series.
