Can YOU Escape Matinicus Isle?

Nightdive Studios and Ziggurat Interactive have joined forces to bring back a beloved horror shooter game from the 90s. Killing Time: Resurrected, originally released in 1995, is getting an HD edition with improved graphics and gameplay. This highly anticipated release was announced at Guerrilla Collective 2024, leaving fans of the original game ecstatic.

For those unfamiliar with the game, Killing Time quickly gained popularity among fans of action, adventure, mystery, and puzzle games. The game’s unique blend of humor, horror, and action earned it the title of “the bastard child of Doom and The 7th Guest.” Now, with the help of Nightdive Studios, the game is being resurrected to bestow mayhem on players once again.

The remastered version, Killing Time: Resurrected, will feature toggleable high-resolution character artwork and sprites from the original 3DO and PC versions. Upscaled environmental texturing, smoother gameplay, and more responsive controls will also be included. Players can expect a more immersive and visually stunning experience with updated graphics and controls.

Set in the 1930s, Killing Time follows the story of a former Egyptology student trapped in the estate of wealthy heiress Tess Conway. Players must explore the mansion, solve puzzles, and face supernatural horrors to uncover the truth behind Ms. Conway’s failed ritual for eternal life. The game promises to keep players on the edge of their seats with its gripping storyline and eerie atmosphere.

Killing Time: Resurrected boasts some exciting new features, including the ability to listen to the remembrances of ghostly guests and apparitions. These clues will help players piece together the haunting events that took place in the mansion. The game also offers a 360-degree view, allowing players to fully immerse themselves in the haunting environment.

The updated version also includes redesigned controls to support PlayStation and Xbox gamepads, making it easier for players to navigate through the game. And with no load time between areas, players can enjoy continuous gameplay without any interruptions.

Fans of the original game will be pleased to know that Killing Time: Resurrected will be available on multiple platforms, including Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. This partnership between Nightdive Studios and Ziggurat Interactive ensures that the game will reach a wider audience and provide a nostalgic experience for long-time fans.

The release of Killing Time: Resurrected later this year is highly anticipated, and fans of the original game cannot wait to relive the thrill and excitement of this classic shooter. Keep an eye out for updates on the release date and platforms in the coming months. Get ready to face your fears and embark on a haunting adventure with Killing Time: Resurrected.
