Ambertail Games’ debut title welcomes players to set up shop in Amber Isle, a friendly village packed with residents to befriend, items to craft and sell, and adventures to be had on Steam and Nintendo Switch
Team17 Digital and Ambertail Games have announced a partnership to publish their highly anticipated game, Amber Isle. Supported by Northern Ireland Screen, this new game is a dino-centric shop management sim that will be available on Steam and Nintendo Switch.
Amber Isle is set on a friendly village, also named Amber Isle, filled with an eclectic mix of prehistoric animals known as Paleofolk. As the new shopkeeper on the island, players must stock their store with all the necessary items that their Paleo-pals might need. From micro-chairs for microraptors to water-proof paper for plesiosaurs, each customer has their own unique needs and behaviors, making it a challenge for players to run a successful shop and save Amber Isle from extinction.
But don’t worry, this is not your average prehistoric island. Did you know that Tyrannosaurus rex is closer in time to us humans today than it was to Stegosaurus? On Amber Isle, time doesn’t work the same way. You’ll encounter Paleofolk from different geological eras, from Ice Age mammals to Permian amphibians, all living happily side by side on the island.
However, Amber Isle is not without its challenges. The village has seen better days, and the grumpy iguanodon Mayor Clawsworth is counting on the new shop to bring back its glory days. After creating your own Paleofolk character, players will spend their days managing their shop, making friends with the locals, and rebuilding the island to attract more Paleofolk to permanently reside there.
Amber Isle offers players endless possibilities with its key features. One of them is the ability to customize, name, and run your shop your way. Use your profits to unlock new shop décor, walls, floors, and more, making the space uniquely yours. You can also rebuild, decorate, and unlock new areas to explore on Amber Isle, and with enough improvement, Paleofolk will start to take up permanent residence on the island.
The game also features 48 different Paleofolk to befriend, including a variety of prehistoric animals such as marine life, invertebrates, and more. And what’s more exciting is that you can design your own Paleofolk character, expressing your love for the prehistoric world.
