Today marks the launch of DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince, the latest installment to the beloved DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS series as noted in Thursday’s Nintendo Download. With over 500 unique monsters to battle, recruit, and train, DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince offers a new level of gaming experience for OPTIONs looking to explore and battle together in a world of Nadiria.
Players take on the role of Monster Wrangler, and recruit monsters through the game’s revamped synthesis system, which allows players to discover new monster combinations with innate talents. With up to eight monsters in their respective parties — four monsters engaging in battle and four in reserve — DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince encourages fans to utilize strategic battles for victory by issuing precise orders to each individual monster, or set general tactics for their entire party.
Put your monster teams to the test in the Endor Colosseum or the Maulosseum, and then move on to challenge other Monster Wranglers from around the world in online battles. DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince offers several online battle modes, such as Ranked Matches, Friend Matches, and Multiplayer Tournaments.
Thanks to the DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince Demo, Monster Wranglers can get an early start on the game by exploring several unique environments in the demo and collecting their first party of monsters. Saved monster rosters from the demo can also be carried over to the full game, so they don’t lose their favorite monsters they’ve already recruited.
The DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince Standard and Deluxe Editions are now available for Nintendo Switch, both in physical and digital formats in the Nintendo eShop. The Deluxe Edition features the game, four bonus items – The Mole Hole, Coach Joe’s Dungeon Gym, Treasure Trunks, and a Burgundy Gothic Vestment – plus a Warrior’s Ring and 10 Beastie Bites.
