Kittengumi: The Sakabato’s Thief is the newest visual novel developed by Guarida Games Studio. This hand-drawn story of cats and pandas takes place in the mystical city of Nyedo in Nyppon.
The main character, Ryuudama, has the noble mission to recover a stolen Sword, the Sakabato. In order to do this, players will take Ryuudama and an assembly of feline warriors, including the bear Kumaneko and the ninja Azuki, on a quest through the city of Nyedo.
Players can experience up to ten different endings based on several narrative routes, which will present multiple adventures and challenges. Artistically, Kittengumi: The Sakabato’s Thief has taken great care to present a hand-drawn manga style throughout, replicating the look and feel of traditional Japanese calligraphy. The soundtrack has also been inspired by traditional instruments to give the experience an even more authentic feel.
Furthermore, Kittengumi has been heavily inspired by the historic Shinsengumi of Japan.
This legendary group of samurai has been recreated in an anthropomorphic universe of cats and pandas, giving fans of the manga genre plenty to look forward to.
