SelectaPlay Announces Barbarian Saga: The Beastmaster

Metroidvana-style action adventure coming to global digital stores

SelectaPlay is thrilled to announce that they will be partnering with indie developer Dormidin Studio to publish Barbarian Saga: The Beastmaster, a 2D action-platformer in the popular Metroidvania style. Based on classic movies and games from the 80’s and 90’s such as Beastmaster, Conan and Deathstalker, Castlevania, Golden Axe and Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts, Barbarian Saga: The Beastmaster is the brainchild of two passionate developers who met at a cosplay event.

Set in the world of Arborea, Barbarian Saga: The Beastmaster follows the story of a chosen one who must unite Men and beasts to bring peace to the land. Players take on the role of the last of the Beastmasters, wielding the power of a god to control animals and creatures and progress through the game’s continuous Metroidvania-style map, by discovering fangs, amulets and plant roots that can alter their attacks, vitality and Mana.

Players will also be able to engage in duels in various Arenas, purchase magic potions and summon curses, and discover new sword techniques taught by their old Sensei. Barbarian Saga: The Beastmaster promises to deliver a deeply immersive story, with hundreds of hand-sketched drawings bringing the world of Arborea to life and plenty of unique NPCs offering more depth to the narrative.

Barbarian Saga: The Beastmaster is set to launch worldwide for PC via Steam, Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch via digital stores. Before that, the game will be featured at Indie Dev Day in Barcelona, Spain from 8th-10th September, alongside five other titles from SelectaPlay’s upcoming portfolio.

Join the fight to bring peace to Arborea and experience first-hand the thrilling adventure of Barbarian Saga: The Beastmaster.
