Get ready for a chess game like no other, as PUNKCAKE Délicieux is proud to announce the upcoming release of their turn-based roguelike chess inspired game, Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate. The board game-inspired strategy game will be available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series S|X, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 & 5 on August 24th thanks to their partnership with Headbang Club.
Experience an altered game of chess, as this one-of-a-kind board game puts the twist of putting you in the shoes of a king piece with a shotgun instead of relying on a regular army. You will need to master two different ways of move to complete the level: you may either move your king or shoot at enemy pieces, after you’ll need to move again to reload your shotgun.
Avoid checkmate and kill the enemy king to complete the floor, and do it while both kings upgrade after each floor.
The console version also brings better visuals than the original one, along with revised interfaces and a brand-new tutorial for monarchs still in training. The card codex and achievement board will keep you coming back for more and become the grandmaster at your local tournament.
