The conference all Nintendo fans have been waiting for has come and gone, and now we’re left with a range of games and trailers to be excited for. In case you missed it, here’s a quick run down of the show’s highlights as summarized by our friends over at Nintendo NSider2:
E3 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii)

Sporting gorgeously crisp cel-shaded graphics, Miyamoto himself took the stage to demonstrate how Wii Motion Plus is used. The nunchuk controls Link’s shield, while Wii Motion Plus grants you greater control of the Master Sword. Other notable features include holding your sword straight up to charge it, allowing you to shoot sword beams, Link can run , jump, and climb objects, there appears to be a limit of eight items, including the familiar bow and arrow and bombs (which can now be dropped, thrown, or rolled), a beetle item that you can control as it flies through the air, and a whip that can, well, whip things. Despite some technical difficulties, it looks like the items are well integrated and sword combat should be smooth. Skyward Sword will be out next year.

Mario Sports Mix (Wii)

As opposed to Mario’s previous sports outings, Sports Mix includes a variety of sports, including volleyball, hockey, dodgeball, and basketball. Mario’s colorful cast of friends populate the game, and items and special abilities create a frantic game scenario. Due out in 2011.

Wii Party (Wii)

A Wii Party trailer shows off some of the mini-games available, and Reggie Fils-Aime advertises the game as another bridge title for casual and hardcore players. Due out this holiday season.

Just Dance 2 (Wii)

A Wii exclusive title that plays off the success of the original. Up to eight players can play.

Golden Sun DS: Dark Dawn (DS)

A new trailer shows off the much anticipated DS title, Golden Sun DS: Dark Dawn. Taking place in a new generation after the GBA Golden Sun games, a new danger threatens the world. Due out this holiday season.

GoldenEye 007 (Wii)

A remake of the highly acclaimed N64 title, GoldenEye Wii recaptures the magic of the original with new levels, Daniel Craig as opposed to Pierce Brosnan as Bond, and splitscreen as well as online multiplayer. Only for Nintendo Wii. Due out this November.

Epic Mickey (Wii)

Warren Spector took the stage to show off Epic Mickey, only for Nintendo Wii. The game takes place in Wasteland, what appears to be a bizzaro-version of Disneyland. Familiar characters are augmented in this dark environment, and Mickey will take on a variety of quests from them. Paint and paint thinner are Mickey’s main tools; you can create erase objects and even characters, manipulating the world around you. Every choice has a consequence; characters will react to you based upon your behavior. Mix of platform, adventure, and RPG gameplay in Epic Mickey. Travel zones are side-scrolling portions inspired by classic black and white cartoons that move you between areas in the game.

Kirby’s Epic Yarn (Wii)

A brand new game trailer shows off Kirby’s latest adventure on the Wii. Clearly taking a cue from the Paper Mario series, Epic Yarn depicts Kirby in colorful yarn while the background displays cloth and string patterns. Kirby can manipulate the environment via yarn strings, as well as absorb powers. Due out this Fall.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies (DS)

After incredible success in Japan, DQIX is ready for release in North America on July 11th. The crux of the game is linking up with other players and heading out on quests together.

Metroid: Other M (Wii)

A new trailer focuses on the intense gameplay of Other M, highlighting the fast paced action of Samus’ latest adventure. From morph ball mode to first-person perspective, shining graphics and detailed environments stretch out before the bounty hunter. Isolation and exploration remain key parts of the game, while greater emphasis is placed on emotion. Due out August 31st.

Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii)

Another brand new game trailer reveals Donkey Kong’s return to form in this side-scrolling adventure. Beautiful graphics have Donkey Kong swinging through the trees and pounding on enemies. Best of all, Diddy is along for the ride as well. Due out this holiday season.

Again, be sure to check back here later for more E3 coverage.

Even during sleep mode, the Nintendo #3DS can search for Wi-Fi access points or other Nintendo 3DS systems which are also ready to respond. Soon, you’ll be able to open your system to find new info/content/stages/quests that have been automatically downloaded!

Mr. Miyamoto is working on a #3D version of Nintendogs (and it contains some new visitors!) Some 3rd party Nintendo #3DS software: DJ Hero, Kingdom Hearts, Madden NFL, Resident Evil, Assassin’s Creed & Metal Gear Solid.

100 CLASSIC BOOKS TURNS THE NINTENDO DS SYSTEM INTO A PORTABLE LIBRARY OF BOOKS

Readers Get 100 Novels at Once - All for Just $19.99

REDMOND, Wash., June 9, 2010 – Have you ever carried 100 books in your pocket? On June 13, people who own any one of the Nintendo DS™ family of systems can buy 100 Classic Books, a compilation of some of the greatest works of classic literature. But the best part is that the entire collection is available at a suggested retail price of just $19.99. And users with broadband Internet access can wirelessly download 10 additional books at no extra charge.100 Classic Books

The postage stamp-sized game card includes a variety of books for all different ages, including seven separate works by Charles Dickens. There are novels that people can enjoy on the beach, such as Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice; adventure and mystery novels that can be devoured during summer travels, such as The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle or Bram Stoker's Dracula; and books that kids can read at home, such as The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling or Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.

"100 Classic Books transforms your Nintendo DS system into a portable library," said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "Readers of any age will enjoy exploring the many worlds, characters and adventures created by these icons of literature."

Readers hold their Nintendo DS systems sideways like a book. To turn the page, they just swipe the touch screen with the stylus or a finger. The settings can even be flipped for left-handed users. A virtual bookmark lets readers return to where they left off. Up to three bookmarks can be used to mark a reader's place in three different books. Large and small fonts are available. Each book includes a biography of the author and a synopsis of the plot and characters.

People who aren't sure which book they want to read can answer a series of questions about their preferences, and the software will recommend some books they might like. Once a book is finished, readers can rate it in different categories and upload the results wirelessly to a central database using Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection. Then other readers can see which books have been rated "funniest" or "most exciting." Readers can also share demos of select books with other Nintendo DS owners who want to sample some literature for themselves.

For more information about 100 Classic Books, visit www.100classicbooks.com.
