Surreal Rotoscoped Branching Adventure Frank and Drake Uncovers the Truth July 20

Appnormals and Chorus Worldwide are set to release their captivating rotoscoped narrative adventure, Frank and Drake, on Thursday, July 20. This unique game follows the story of an unlikely duo as they unravel a mysterious conspiracy in the fictional mid-Atlantic city of Oriole. With stunning visuals, branching narratives, and intriguing gameplay, Frank and Drake is poised to offer gamers an unforgettable experience.

The game will be initially available on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, with versions for PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One coming soon.

Frank and Drake, the latest title from the acclaimed developers of STAY and the console publishers of A Space for the Unbound and Coffee Talk, invites players to delve into a strange tale. The game features over 8,000 hand-drawn frames of traditional 2D art overlaid on filmed footage, creating a visually captivating experience.

The story revolves around Frank, a superintendent of a rundown apartment block, and Drake, a bartender with a solar allergy who communicates with his deceased mother at her gravesite under the moonlight. Frank, still recovering from amnesia, finds himself running the apartment building during the day while caring for Underdog, a scrappy one-eyed, wheelchair-riding dog. Drake, on the other hand, embraces the nightlife, dealing with visions and seeking protection from mysterious characters.

As Frank and Drake become entangled in a web of riddles and secrets, players assume their roles in an asynchronous gameplay style. Playing as Frank during the day and Drake at night, the duo communicates through sticky notes left in the apartment, working together to uncover Frank’s missing memories, decipher Drake’s visions, and unveil the puppet master pulling the strings.

Frank and Drake captivate players with a branching narrative across seven in-game days, offering multiple paths shaped by the choices made. Unlocking various endings provides deeper insights into the shared reality of Frank and Drake. The game also features puzzles to solve and mini-games to complete, adding layers of intrigue and engagement.

Shintaro Kanaoya, founder and CEO of Chorus Worldwide, expressed his excitement for Frank and Drake, stating, “It’s the kind of game where if it clicks with you, you’ll really love it.” The visually stunning art and captivating storyline make this game a truly unique experience. Additionally, the lovable Underdog adds an extra element of charm that players are sure to appreciate.

Frank and Drake will be available for $24.99 / €22.99 / £19.99 on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam starting Thursday, July 20. The game will also be released on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One in the near future.
