BROK the InvestiGator Now Fully Playable For Blind Gamers

French developer and publisher COWCAT have announced that their acclaimed game BROK the InvestiGator now has accessibility features for blind and visually impaired players on all platforms. The game is the first Nintendo Switch™ game to be accessible to blind players and the first full-fledged adventure game that blind and visually impaired players can play through.

The features are available on all platforms: PC, PS4™, PS5™, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (through backwards compatibility) and Nintendo Switch™. These features include fully narrated text-to-speech and audio descriptions, puzzles adapted for blindness, the ability to skip puzzles and fights, adapted tutorials, buttons to repeat the last voice speech and instructions, positional audio for fights, no online connectivity required (after the download) and no specific device required (play with keyboard or a controller). Additionally, larger fonts and increased contrast (backgrounds and enemies) are available as additional options.

Brandon Cole, an award-winning blind accessibility consultant on several AAA games such as The Last Of Us 1 & 2, shared his thoughts on the game: “Brok the InvestiGator is not only a fantastic game with full voice acting, choices that matter, and an intriguing hybrid of genres, it’s also fully accessible to even the totally blind, and I absolutely love it. This one’s worth not just 1 playthrough, but several.”
