Pokémon World and North American 2019 Tournament Locations & Dates Announced

2019 POKÉMON NORTH AMERICA INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS AND 2019 POKÉMON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS DATES AND LOCATIONS ANNOUNCED The Greater Columbus Convention Center will host the North America International Championships in June. Open to players worldwide with no residency restrictions, this tournament provides Pokémon TCG and video game competitors with a final opportunity to score valuable Championship Points in order to secure an invitation to the 2019 World Championships. In August, the top Pokémon TCG and video game players will meet and compete at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, for the Pokémon World Championships. The Pokémon World Championships celebrate the hardworking players and supportive community around them. POKÉMON DETECTIVE PIKACHU CARD REVEALS

Today The Pokémon Company International revealed three new cards for the Pokémon Trading Card (TCG) game featuring Mr. Mime, JigglyPuff and Psyduck, as seen in the upcoming live-action movie, “POKÉMON Detective Pikachu.” These Pokémon were some of the breakout stars from the highly-viewed first trailer for the movie. Like the Detective Pikachu, Charizard and Greninja TCG cards  previously announced, the newly revealed cards depict the Pokémon in their CGI movie likenesses and will be available at selected retailers across Europe from 29thMarch.

Bulbasaur to get the Funko Pop treatment and A Day with Pikachu figures announced

The Pokemon Company and Funko have announced two upcoming lines of Pokemon Funko Pop in North America. First, a new line of figures called “A Day with Pikachu” by Funko will be released exclusively at the official Pokemon Center website. The first figure, “One Lucky Day”, launches on February 13, 2019. 12 figures in all are planned to release into 2020: Celebrate a Year of Pikachu with Funko Pokémon Center and Funko team up to bring fans 12 new figures in the A Day with Pikachu collection. Pokémon fans have a lot to get excited about in the coming months thanks to a special collaboration between Pokémon Center and the collectible-creating experts at Funko. Metroid Prime 4 Development Scrapped, to Be Restarted with Retro Studios

In very sad new, development of the Metroid Prime 4 game has been entirely restarted. Nintendo has issued an official statement updating fans on the progress of Metroid Prime 4. Shinya Takahashi, Senior Managing Executive Officer at Nintendo, thanks fans for their continued excitement and support, before stating that “the current development progress has not reached the standard we seek in a sequel to the Metroid Prime series” Nintendo wants this upcoming title to be of the highest quality. That said, development has been restructured entirely, and its producer Kensuke Tanabe will now work alongside US Based Retro Studios, the team that developed the original Metroid Prime series.
