Countless Toys Based on More Than 40 New Pokémon Characters to Launch in 2007
Malibu, CA – February 9, 2007 – JAKKS Pacific, Inc. launches the first major Pokémon® toy release in more than four years with action figures, plush, electronics and play sets based on more than 40 new characters. Already on shelves since early 2007, new assortments shipping to retail each month. JAKKS has created a collectible line celebrating the rich worlds of the dynamic pop culture phenomenon which will inspire kids to collect and battle all of their favorite Pokémon characters.
Currently, the hit TV show “Pokémon: Battle Frontier” is broadcast on Cartoon Network® multiple times throughout the week. In April 2007, Nintendo® will launch the highly anticipated Pokémon® Diamond and Pokémon Pearl™ video games in the U.S. Released in Japan this past September, the games were an instant success. A record-breaking five million units were already shipped to retailers, making them the fastest selling Pokémon games ever. “Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl,” the animated series, will begin airing in June 2007 with over 50 new episodes and the introduction of all new Pokémon characters with brand new adventures in a new land.
Spring 2007 Line-Up
Pokémon® Basic Figures: Collect and Catch’em All! The All New 2007 Pokémon® Basic Figure line from Jakks will include an assortment of over 75 figures including both classic Pokémon as well as the new Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl characters. Standing 3” in scale, the figures capture all the character and personality of each Pokémon. Six series of both single packs ($3.99 MSRP) and multipacks ($9.99 MSRP) will be released throughout the year. Single pack Pokémon come with a marble to match. Multipack Pokémon will have 3 Pokémon in each pack.
Pokémon Deluxe Figure Series ($9.99 MSRP): Pokémon come to life with lights and sounds in the 5” Electronic Pokémon® Deluxe Figure Series from JAKKS. The first series will include Pikachu®, Blastoise™, and Blaziken™. Grab Pikachu’s hand to see its cheeks light up and hear “PIKAAACHUUU!” Blastoise retracts its head and arms into its shell. When released, Blastoise announces its name and its water cannons light up. Blaziken fires up by growling “BLAZIKEN!” and lighting its fiery wrist bands. Four series a year provides the chance to catch a lot of lively Pokémon!
Deluxe Talking Pokédex™ ($19.99 MSRP): The All New Deluxe Talking Pokédex is a handheld, interactive virtual.encyclopedia of Pokémon. For the first time ever, all 386 Pokémon will be displayed with their individual Pokédex description. After you are familiar with your Pokémon, you can play three interactive games included in the control unit.
Pokémon Throw Poké Ball™ Series ($9.99): Throw a Poké Ball just like Ashe does on the show! The 3” diameter PokéBall opens to launch a 2.5” plush Poké Ball into battle. Collect all three Poké Balls this spring with series #1: Pikachu, Munchlax, and Spheal!
Pokémon Mini Plush Series ($5.99): Made with super-soft and cuddly plush, the Pokémon Mini Plush Series from JAKKS provides an extremely cute and collectible line of 5” Plush Pokémon. The first series includes Pikachu, Torchic, Butterfree, Plusle, Minun, Duskull, Oddish, and Tentacool. Catch over 20 mini plush Pokémon characters in three series throughout 2007!
Pokémon World Playset: Infuse yourself in the Pokémon environment with this large mat playset. A figure is included with each set, along with a bonus poster and stickers!
