Save Avalice from Lunar Destruction in Freedom Planet 2, Speeding onto Console Platforms on April 4

XSEED Games Shares New Trailer Showcasing Freedom Planet 2’s High-speed 2D Platforming Action and New Mode; Digital Pre-Order for Nintendo Switch System Begins

XSEED Games, the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., is thrilled to announce the digital release of Freedom Planet 2 on multiple console platforms. Developed by indie game developer GalaxyTrail, this highly anticipated sequel to the surprise hit, Freedom Planet 2, will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One in North America on April 4th.

Freedom Planet 2 is a high-speed platforming adventure that takes players on a thrilling journey through the vibrant world of Avalice. The game follows four playable heroines – Lilac, Carol, Milla, and Neera – as they race to save their world from the ancient water dragon, Merga, and her plans to destroy the moon. With the franchise’s signature pixel art and exhilarating momentum-based action, Freedom Planet 2 delivers an unforgettable gaming experience.

The game also introduces a fan-requested feature – the ‘Boss Rush’ mode, which will be included in all console versions and added to the PC version on release day. This mode will have two divisions with 17 challenging bosses each, inviting players to put their skills to the test. Those who can conquer both divisions will unlock a special VIP room with Easter eggs for devoted fans.

In addition to the new mode, Freedom Planet 2 offers 24 expertly designed stages, an expanded Adventure mode, and retro-but-refined 2D visuals. The game also includes enhancements and new gameplay systems to elevate the already beloved formula.

“Our team is excited to bring Freedom Planet 2 to multiple platforms and introduce it to a wider audience,” said the developers at GalaxyTrail. “We’ve taken into account the requests and feedback from our fans and added new elements that we believe will make this game a true platforming powerhouse.”

Players can take advantage of the unique abilities of each heroine, from Lilac’s speed with her Dragon Boost to Carol’s Jump Disc and motorcycle. Additionally, the new character, Neera, brings her powerful Frost Arts to the table, making her a formidable addition to the team.

Those interested in pre-ordering the game can do so now on the Nintendo Switch system for $24.99, with a 10% discount available for one week after launch on all console platforms. The PC version of Freedom Planet 2 was previously published by GalaxyTrail. This title is rated “T for Teen” by the ESRB on console platforms and has not been rated on PC.

XSEED Games continues to bring exciting and unique games to the market, and Freedom Planet 2 is no exception. Stay tuned for more information and updates on the official XSEED Games website.
