Multiplayer Returns in DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince

Online Battles, Quickfire Contests, and an Online Shop offer new challenges, experiences, and will reward players with monsters and rare items

Fans eagerly anticipating the release of DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince on December 1 for Nintendo Switch will be excited to learn that Square Enix has announced a sizable suite of online features for the game. Competing against friends and rivals around the world, players can hone their skills, strengthen their monsters, and battle to become the highest-ranked monster wrangler.

Those who want to get a jump on the competition can download a free demo available now in the Nintendo eShop. Progress made in this early access version will transfer over to the full game once it releases. DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince will also feature three main online experiences: Online Battles, Quickfire Contests, and the Online Shop.

Online Battles offer a mix of fan-favorite and new game modes, such as Ranked Matches, Friend Matches, and Multiplayer Tournaments. Rewards in Online Battles and Quickfire Contests include rare items and new monsters. Plus, players will be able to purchase in-game items with gold coins earned in the main game from the Online Shop, which offers everything from scrolls to teach a new Talent to a monster to powerful accessories and delectable meats.
