CATAN – Console Edition from Dovetail Games Coming on November 9th

The classic board game, CATAN, is coming to the Nintendo Switch as CATAN – Console Edition! Starting November 9, 2023, gamers will be able to play the popular board game with friends and family on the couch, online or on the move.

The official console version of CATAN has been developed by Dovetail Games with help from Nomad Games, and will be released in three editions: Super Deluxe, Deluxe, and Standard.

The Super Deluxe version of CATAN includes the base game, five championship maps, and the Helpers expansion pack. With this added dimension of strategy, Helpers bring an additional layer of fun and specialized skills to the game to help players build their fledgling communities into thriving cities.

The Deluxe and Standard editions include the base game and championship maps, respectively, and players can choose to purchase The Helpers and championship maps separately to customize their gaming experience.

For those eager to get their hands on the Super Deluxe version of CATAN – Console Edition, a one-week pre-order promotion beginning on November 2nd will offer a 10% discount. The prices are as follows: Super Deluxe – $29.99 USD, Deluxe – $24.99 USD, Standard – $19.99 USD, The Helpers – $9.99 USD and Championship Maps – $6.99 USD.

Players will immerse themselves in an animated board, populated with characters and resources. Building cities and settlements will earn them Victory Points, as well as through the tactical use of Development Cards. Cross-play allows Nintendo Switch gamers to enjoy CATAN – Console Edition together with players on other consoles, while solo players can tackle the various AI characters included in the game.

As with its predecessor, CATAN – Console Edition is all about playing together, and the Card Companion on smartphones allows players to gather around one TV without the risk of seeing their opponent’s resources.
