Microids announces the video game The Smurfs 2: The Prisoner of the Green Stone!

Save the Smurfs’ village from the grip of the Green Stone

The beloved Smurfs are set to return in a brand new 3D adventure/platform game set for release in Q4 2023. Publisher Microids and IMPS, the Smurfs license holder, just announced The Smurfs 2: The Prisoner of the Green Stone and unveiled the first images of the game. Developed by OSome Studio, The Smurfs 2: The Prisoner of the Green Stone is a sequel to the 2021 game The Smurfs – Mission Vileaf.

The story follows Handy Smurf, who has created a revolutionary invention called SmurfoMix. However, it’s missing a key ingredient, the Green Stone, which lays in the clutches of the evil Gargamel. In an effort to retrieve the Green Stone, Handy sets off on a mission to Gargamel’s laboratory.

But an unfortunate misstep causes the Green Stone to explode, its fragments scattering throughout the Cursed Land and unleashing a new order bent on creating a reign of terror.

In order to save the Cursed Land from the evil Stolas, a crack team of 4 iconic Smurfs, Handy Smurf, Brainy Smurf, Clumsy Smurf, and Smurfstorm, must embark on an adventure. The Smurfs can count on the SmurfoMix and an unexpected ally… Gargamel himself!

The game features dynamic gameplay with exploration, platforming, and intense combat. In addition, it offers a co-op mode and the ability to collect various resources to acquire the BoostiBoom and improve the Smurfomix throughout the adventure.

The Smurfs 2: The Prisoner of the Green Stone will be released in Q4 2023 on a variety of platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game marks the Smurfs’ 65th anniversary and there will be more Smurfs-related news to come.
