Today, independent game developer Chucklefish announced a brand new deck-building, roguelike adventure game, Wildfrost.
Set in a world on the brink of destruction from an eternal winter, players will traverse the frosty mountains using a card deck of companions and powerful elemental items, in order to reclaim the world. The game features a perfect mix of deckbuilding and adventure, with daily challenges and runs for endless replayability.
Wildfrost will launch on PC and Nintendo Switch on April 12th, 2023, and pre-orders are now available on Nintendo Switch, as well as a free demo. The game will be available in English, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), Japanese, and Korean. The game is being developed in collaboration between Will Lewis (Programmer & Designer, Deadpan Games) and Asaf “Gaz” Gazit (Artist & Designer, Gaziter).
Players will select Leaders from different tribes at the beginning of every journey, each gifted with different randomised stats and skills. The dynamic ‘counter system’ will help players plan ahead and exploit the weaknesses of enemies and monsters.
During each run, players will be able to recruit companions, unearth lost treasures, equip powerful charms, and spend hard-earned blings with mysterious travelling merchants.
Wildfrost will be available to wishlist now, and will launch on PC and Nintendo Switch on April 12th, 2023, for $19.99/ £16.79/ €19.50. Pre-orders are now available on Nintendo Switch, as well as a free demo.
