Mysteries and monsters will collide this Friday, April 28, 2023 as LCB Game Studio and publisher Chorus Worldwide release the second installment of their Pixel Pulps anthology, Varney Lake, on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5|4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Varney Lake follows its predecessor Mothmen 1966 and follows the story of paranormal investigator Lou Hill as he attempts to solve a 30-year-old mystery.
Players take on the role of Lou Hill and help him retrace the steps of three kids’ summer vacation from decades ago.
Through choice-based gameplay, gamers must solve accessible, brain-tickling puzzles while learning more about the paranormal investigator himself in a dual-timeline story inspired by books with choices and branching narratives from the past.
“We love how differently Varney Lake approaches horror compared to Mothmen 1966,” said Shintaro Kanaoya, founder and CEO of Chorus Worldwide. “The first Pixel Pulp installment hid its cryptic truths in the dark surrounding woods — Varney Lake hides them in plain sight. We’re so excited for you to see the same macabre Pixel Pulps intrigue presented in a whole new light.”
Varney Lake will be released on Friday, April 28, 2023 for $9.99 / €7.99 / £8.49 and will be available in English, Spanish, German, French, and Japanese languages.
