Quebec City   –  Sabotage  and  Devolver Digital  have announced the long-awaited ninja adventure The Messenger which will be released on Thursday, August 30, on Nintendo Switch and PC. Eager students of the secret martial arts can  pre-order the game now in  Nintendo Switch eShop  and  Steam for $19.99 USD or 19.99 euros.

Since its announcement, The Messenger has attracted as much attention as rewards throughout its development, to the point of becoming one of the most anticipated games of the year on Nintendo Switch. The player embodies an anonymous ninja warrior who ventures into an evil world with a mission to deliver a parchment essential for the survival of his clan, while an army of demons besieges his village. The adventure starts like any good, traditional 8-bit ninja saga, but quickly develops into a fascinating time epic intricate into a 16-bit world peeping into exploration and the secret passages typical of the metroidvania genre. Everything is beautifully interwoven with a katana gameplay well sharpened controls perfectly accessible.

Created by industry veterans Thierry Boulanger and Martin Brouard in April 2016, Sabotage is an independent studio located in the city of Quebec whose goal is to create original licenses with a retro aesthetic and a game design modern. The Messenger is his first title, although it’s hard to believe when you take it in hand. It’s a pretty good game!
